The .CN Registry has taken the abrupt decision to no longer accept domain name applications from individuals. This follows the Chinese government’s recent decision to crackdown on anti-porn, anti-piracy, and to control the abuse of the .CN domain space by criminals.
Unforunately this move involves major changes in the .CN registry system. As a result we are sorry to announce that registration of new .CN domain names is suspended until the end January.
Our technical team is currently hard-working to adapt to these changes in the best possible way for our customers and will keep you updated during the month.
Current .CN Customers do not need to worry: existing .CN Domains remain accessible in your EuroDNS account and can still be safely renewed or updated.

Register your .DO!
Register your domain name in the new Top Level domain extension .DO at EuroDNS!
Luxembourg, December 14th, 2009 - EuroDNS is glad to announce the opening of the .DO domain extension.
.DO is the Country Code Top Level Domain for the Dominican Republic, a nation on the island of Hispaniola and also the 2nd biggest Caribbean nation with around 10 million people.
Having your name registered in a .DO is significant if you are planning to reach and communicate with the audience in the Dominican Republic. It can also be a strategic move as the word “DO” means different things in different languages. In English “DO” is the most used action verb, with plenty of meanings attached to it and possible usages. In Spanish, “DO” is the end of all verbs in past participle.
Xavier Buck, CEO of EuroDNS says, “As part of our strategy to offer a large range of new and exotic extensions, from country code top level domains to generic ones, we are pleased to launch the .DO for the Dominican Republic. We already offered the second level domain .COM.DO, more centered on commercial organizations. .DO is not only significant for its association to a country, but it also has great marketing potential and has an obvious usage: for example, one could register howdoyou.do, whatyougonna.do”.
The registration fee for a .DO domain name is € 98 per year and the registration minimum term is of 2 years.

Pre-register .eu IDNs for 9 Eur
EuroDNS has announced one month ago the opening of a pre-registration period for .eu Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs), based on a first-come, first-served model. This gives companies and individuals based in the European Union the chance to register domain names that contain non-Latin characters under the .eu domain.
Until December 10th, benefit from a 50% promotion on your .EU, using the promocode 9EU9.
Xavier Buck, CEO of EuroDNS explains, “the opening of IDNs for the .eu is a huge step forwards for businesses and individuals in Europe. This implementation will support the 23 official languages of the European Union as well as the entire alphabets. However there won’t be any sunrise period and as it is on a first-come, first-served basis, it is crucial that customers and especially the owners of a registered trademark register in advance via our interface, www.eurodns.com, in order to secure their names. There are only 10 days left”.
IDNs are domain names that contain non-Latin characters. These characters include, for example, the Swedish å, the German ü, the Romanian ș, the Cyrillic й, Latin accents such as é and characters from the Bulgarian and Greek alphabets. The characters that will be supported can be found here: http://www.eurid.eu/en/eu-domain-names/idns-eu/supported-characters
Another important technical aspect is the impossibility to mix scripts or characters from different scripts/alphabets in a single IDN, as some characters can look so similar that they cannot be differentiated. The maximum length of the IDN must be 63 characters after it is converted into the ACE string format needed by the Domain Name. To convert your name, please go to: http://www.eurodns.com/eu-idn-registration/
On receipt of your pre-registration order, EuroDNS will place it in a dedicated queue following the first come first served principle and will endeavor to automatically submit it to the .EU registry on December 10 of 2009. Besides, there is no additional fee to benefit from EuroDNS pre-registration queue.
